Back in 2009, we did a poster for the B4XMAS Night in Switzerland that you can see in our portfolio here. Since then, a bunch of people asked us what technique was actually used. This is the reason of this entry…

No, this is not a photoshop work of integrating an illustration into a stock picture. This is all real!After a brainstorming with Jeremie and a few sketches, I started to paint the snowman on a big canvas (circa 60×40 cm). Jeremie and I went then to the flee-market and bought an old frame with an icon. We removed it and placed the Awful Snowman inside, then Cedric and him went to a friend who lives in a very old house. After a few tries on the composition, they took the shot that we used, and I added the typography on top of it.It was an interesting process to mix painting, illustration, typography and photography in one poster, and we’re kind of proud of the final result. I hope you like it too.
